A Chill Travelers defensive driving tip!
Driving in a very big rig, we are the size of a semi truck. About 65′ overall. A trick we learned that applies to everyone is to drive at odd numbered speed when in heavy traffic on multi-lane highways.
For example, when the speed limit is 70 mph, you drive at 67 or 73. You choose the higher or lower speed based on the temperment of the highway you are on. If eveyone is doing the speed limit, you do three mph slower. If everyone is going five mph over, you do three mph over.
The reason is that you never get caught in wolfpack and therefore you are driving defensively because you are either out running the packs or they are passing you which breaks up the packs.
